Summer should be the best part of the year. Each week brings a new theme, from nature and science to art, music, and community, with projects that let children build, create, and discover.
We balance active outdoor play with quiet reading and skill-building time, so children stay sharp and arrive ready for the new school year. Families provide transportation to and from the center.
Group size: Group sizes that meet Missouri licensing requirements for school-age care.

A day at Toomerland
A gentle, predictable rhythm
Times are a guide. We follow each child's needs.
Arrival and a warm welcome.
Breakfast together.
Morning meeting and this week's theme.
Outdoor play and games.
Theme project: STEM, art, or building.
Lunch.
Reading time and quiet activities.
Clubs, crafts, and water play on warm days.

Good to know
Who can attend the Summer Program?
Children ages 5 to 12. Space is limited, so we recommend reserving early.
What are the summer hours?
Monday through Friday, 7:00 AM to 5:30 PM.
Are meals included?
Yes. Breakfast, lunch, and an afternoon snack are included, planned to USDA CACFP nutrition standards.
Do you provide transportation?
Transportation is not provided. Families drop off and pick up their children.
